We are making a major investment in youth apartments to make it easier for young people to find their own housing. We currently offer 155 youth apartments, and the goal is to add another 50 each year.
The shortage of housing means that young adults, in particular, have difficulties in obtaining a rental contract, especially when it comes to their first home. This may be due to factors such as a lower ability to pay, uncertain employment conditions, and difficulties in obtaining home loans. To ease the situation of young people, Skebo is selecting a number of single-room and double-room apartments from our portfolio and offering them to young people aged 18-25. In new developments, a number of the apartments are also earmarked for young people. This primarily involves smaller apartments that are not adapted for the elderly, and which are usually centrally located to meet the needs of the younger generation.
Who can rent a youth apartment?
The apartments we have chosen to call youth apartments are specifically intended for young housing applicants from the age of 18 up to 25. There is no upper age limit on how long you can stay. The apartments are assigned to the person with the longest queue time who meets the requirements for the housing.
Don’t forget that if you want to queue for a youth apartment, must click the accommodation type Youth Apartment under Preferences section on Expression of Interest page in My Account. It is important that you update your expression of interest for youth apartments so you don’t miss rental objects in the Youth Apartment category published on our website.
