It is now clear that Skebo is initiating a renewed collaboration with Aimo, one of Sweden's leading mobility solution providers. The agreement, finalized this week, is an important step in Skebo's efforts to improve parking options for its tenants.
– We have contracted a partner that can help us develop our mobility offerings and shares our vision for the future of parking, says Sandra Hägg, project manager at Skebo.
– Aimo understands our needs and how we want to actively work on improving parking options for our tenants, she continues.
The changes will be implemented gradually over the coming months. Skebo will keep tenants informed and also share more parking news.
More than just a parking garage
The collaboration with Aimo is about more than traditional parking management. In addition to ensuring smooth parking solutions, Aimo will be an important partner in the development of Skebo/Skellefteå Industrihus's future mobility houses. The parking houses are intended to offer more than just space for cars - the long-term plan is for them to include features such as shared pools, post boxes, and charging stations, creating a more multifunctional use of the premises.
– We see great opportunities to make parking more than just a place to park the car. The idea is that our mobility houses should offer more services and make it easier for our tenants in their daily lives. This is part of our strategy to improve the sustainability of our inventory, says Sandra.
First hour free
One of the first steps in the collaboration with Aimo will be to introduce new rules and fees for visitor parking.
– Over the years, we have received complaints from tenants that it is often full or that visitors who do not belong to the residents are using the visitor parking spaces, says Sandra.
In response to tenants' requests to reduce improper parking and ensure that the parking spaces are used correctly, Skebo will start charging for visitor parking. The setup includes a free first hour and a small fee from the second hour onwards.
Another important aspect of the new collaboration is to ensure that everyone, even those without smartphones, has the opportunity to pay for parking in our parking garages, public parking spaces, and visitor parking at our residences. With Parkster and Aimo as payment solutions, Skebo will be able to offer smooth and accessible payment options for all tenants and visitors.
– It has been important for us to find a partner that can provide customer service that is available for most of the day and can help our tenants with their questions, Sandra continues.
She emphasizes that Skebo does not intend to make money from visitor parking - it is rather about ensuring fair and efficient use.
– We do not want visiting their grandmother or a friend to be a cost issue. Our focus is on creating good parking solutions that make it easier for our tenants and their visitors, she says.
